HOW TO REFORM CONGRESS AND GET RID OF THE LINDSEY GRAHAMS, BARNEY FRANKS, HARRY RIEDS, NANCY PELOSI TYPES

Citizen Legislators, not career politicians like Lindsey Graham. Click the pic for his info. unfortunately SC is stuck with him till 2014

“Congressional Reform Act of 2010”. It would contain eight provisions, all of which would probably be strongly endorsed by those who drafted the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
I know many of you will say, “this is impossible”.  Let me remind you, Congress has the lowest approval of any entity in Government, now is the time when Americans will join together to reform Congress – the entity that represents us.
We need to get a Senator to introduce this bill in the US Senate and a Representative to introduce a similar bill in the US House.  These people will become American heroes.

Congressional Reform Act of 2010
1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below.
A. Two Six year Senate terms
B. Six Two year House terms
C. One Six year Senate term and three Two Year House terms
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

2.  No Tenure / No Pension:  A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.     Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

3.  Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security:
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately.  All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, server your term(s), then go home and back to work.
4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans .
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.
5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.
6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.
7. Congress must equally abide in all laws they impose on the American people.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.  Or go to jail, if appropriate.
8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.
The American people did not make this contract with congressmen, congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

This is just a few ideas bouncing around.  I’ll bet you patriots have a few more to add to this list.  I for one am all in favor of booting out all Republicans who fail to toe the conservative party line.  Grahams vote on Kagen is a great case in point. Him and all his kind must be ferreted out and beat at the polls come their next election cycle.  Pass this on.

Sure this sounds like a great idea but one has to remember that our government plays by its own rules not the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. I really don’t mean to sound negative all the time about this, but my guess is that possibly 10% of all elected officials in any branch of the government actually have good intentions to do something productive (lower taxes, less government, more freedom, less deficit, better public safety) while in office. That 10% will be beaten down, sucked in, threatened and made fools of by the lame stream media and other government employees. As far as any Congressmen knowing that it’s an honor to be a Congressman, well you can bet your last dollar that they could not care less or have even heard of such a thing. Anything that may come up, ie; Congressional Reform Act 2010, will be vetoed with utmost urgency so as not to interfere with their monetary enhancements, retirement and length of term in office. The integrity that most of our Founding Fathers had is no where to be found today in 90% of our government officials. With the diverse community we have today and all its influence, getting this government and country back the way our Founding Fathers wanted it to be will be next to impossible. Especially when you consider how out of control they are already and all the changes and additions they have made to all public/government documents. I could come up with a number of solutions to get this country back on track but I really see no point in even writing them down. Not only would it never be read by any government employee, but they have their own agenda and they are sticking to it. So I’m really not expecting any big revelation this November no matter who gets voted in. Oh they all look so nice in their new suits and dresses and they look like they really mean business this time around but, give me a break, just how much longer will the American people continue to be so gullible? Just what politician has really done everything they promised they would do while they were running for office after they got in office and not gone ahead and done some other kind of dirty underhanded deal to make him or her self or someone else more money or benefitted somehow in the process and the tax payers ends up taking it in the shorts? Yeah, that’s right, NONE. All though there is this Chris Christie guy in New Jersey who appears to be making some headway in reform, but he’s only been around for while and everyone has a few skeletons in their closet. http://hotair.com/archives/2010/05/13/video-chris-christie-destroys-reporter-for-calling-him-confrontational/
